Scrubbing Kitchen Sinks
Kitchen sinks are more noticeable than you might think. When they are dirty and covered in water spots, people will automatically consider the entire kitchen dirty. If they are clean and shining, however, then the entire kitchen will feel cleaner and better cared for.
Bleach Rinse
If your sink hasn’t been scrubbed in a while, start by filling it to the brim with hot water and a generous dose of bleach. Take care not to get any bleach on your clothes during the process.
A solution of one cup bleach to one gallon of water will work to loosen any debris, break water spots free and get the sink clean. Allow it to sit a few hours before draining the water and scrubbing the sink clean with dish detergent.
Abrasive Cleaners
If you have a porcelain sink, then you don’t want to use abrasive cleaners to scrub it. Choose gentle dish detergent or special cleaners for porcelain. Stainless steel, on the other hand, can be scrubbed clean without fear of damaging the finish. After scrubbing the sink, allow it to sit for a few minutes. Rinse it away for a clean and sparkling finish.
Kitchen sinks can be shined with a quick spritz of glass cleaner. Once the sink is shiny and beautiful, you may find that the cleaning will spread throughout the kitchen. There is something contagious about a shiny kitchen sink, and you will love how the rest of the kitchen starts to look.
