Kitchen Remodeling: Don’t Forget to Measure
Almost anyone who has ever remodeled will tell you one of the most important things you can do as you begin is measure, measure, measure!
If you’re ordering appliances, installing new cabinets, or planning new flooring, you must take the time to measure carefully before you order your kitchen remodeling products. It’s very disappointing to get to the point that your new appliances are delivered only to find out they won’t fit into the designated space.
If there is any way your budget will allow, find yourself a kitchen designer to help you draw up your remodeling plans. When you choose installers, talk with them up front about the plans to ensure they understand what you want the final outcome to be. If you can’t afford a kitchen designer, make sure you measure very carefully and work with your installer to try to offset any problems at delivery time.
When you measure:
Some objects won’t be moved such as pipes and plumbing – don’t forget to take them into consideration.
Think about how high your ceiling is in each area of your kitchen to make sure your appliances and cabinetry will work as planned.
Include trim when measuring doors and windows.
