Avoid These Mistakes When Cleaning Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is a very popular type of material for everything from refrigerators to stoves to countertops. You’ll find stainless steel in a majority of homes today even if it’s just the kitchen sink. And it’s a very touch durable material for kitchens. Here’s what you should not do if you want to protect your stainless steel appliances or countertops:
Many times you can simply use soapy water and a soft cloth for cleaning your stainless steel. For tougher stains, you may need to use a stainless steel cleaner and there are many types on the market today. You’ll just need to find one that works for you.
Always rinse off the surface after cleaning. No matter what type of cleaner you use, residue left on the surface may permanently damage the finish.
Things to avoid completely:
1. Products containing chlorine
2. Steel wool or brushes
3. Abrasive cleaners
If you follow the above advice and still have spots or stains, it may be caused by your water. Hard water can learn spots – drying completely after cleaning can usually fix this problem.
