Do You Need a Dishwasher?
A dishwasher is an incredibly handy appliance that allows you to simply load with your dirty dishes, utensils and glassware and then unload once it is cleaned. Although many people rely heavily on their dishwashers, it is not a required item for the kitchen. Here are some things to consider in order to determine if you need a dishwasher in your own home:
Space in the Kitchen
If there is very little space in the kitchen you might be better served by skipping the dishwasher and instead using the space for extra storage. Although it might not seem like a dishwasher takes up too much space, in a small kitchen it can make a real difference.
On a tight budget it might be best to skip a dishwasher. It is something that can be installed later on if budget allows but certainly won’t be missed for a year or two after first moving in or remodeling a space.
Number of Residents
Large families will undoubtedly get more out of a dishwasher than a single person or a couple. If you eat at restaurants a lot, you may not need a dishwasher. Many families can do without dishwashers and enjoy the money and space they saved by not purchasing one.
